Problem

Traders who do not write code wanted to build strategies visually, test them against history and run them live, without moving between three tools and hoping the numbers agree.

Constraints

  • Market data from several exchanges, each with its own formats and quirks.
  • A backtest is worthless if live trading sees different data than the test did.
  • Charts, orders and P&L update many times a second and the UI has to stay responsive.

Decisions

  • Normalised every exchange feed into one internal model, so backtesting and live trading run on identical data and the results match.
  • PostgreSQL for transactional data, ClickHouse for time series, Redis for live state: each store does the job it is good at.
  • Real-time charts, order management and live P&L across accounts over WebSockets in a Next.js 15 frontend.
  • Backend split into Go microservices, all containerised, shipped through CI/CD.

Result

Strategy builder with backtesting across 7 exchanges and 350+ trading pairs, live order execution, P&L tracking, Stripe billing and 2FA.
